So, what is Business Mentorship? Business Mentorship is a relationship with a trusted advisor who you turn to for help. The Mentor provides guidance, advice, and support.
Let’s start by getting clear on the difference between a business mentor and a business coach. Here’s a simple definition that may be helpful. A mentor gives advice as to what you should do. A coach helps you to develop the skills to actually do it. So you may in fact need both depending on what your needs are at the time. However, these two roles are not mutually exclusive. At times a coach needs to be able to advise and a great mentor should also be able to move into coaching mode from time to time.
